Effective climate communication is about more than sharing facts. It is about reaching people, building understanding and encouraging informed public discussion. In this webinar, we will explore how climate topics can be communicated more effectively, how broader audiences can be engaged and which common mistakes should be avoided.
The collaboration project for climate journalism, Media for Future, invites you to join our next Media for Future webinar:
25 June 2026, 16:00 CET
How do we communicate effectively about climate change?
With Carel Mohn (Klimafakten.de)
Carel Mohn is a journalist, political scientist and an experienced expert on climate communication. As founder and editor-in-chief of Klimafakten.de, he has spent more than 15 years working at the intersection of journalism, climate science and public debate, exploring how societies discuss climate change and how communication can support informed public dialogue.
During the online conversation, Carel will share insights on:
- Why facts alone are often not enough to change minds
- How to engage audiences that are sceptical but open to dialogue
- Common mistakes in climate reporting and communication
- How to recognise and address climate misinformation
- How to communicate climate issues without alarmism or oversimplification
The session will include time for questions and discussion, offering an opportunity to exchange experiences with colleagues from across Europe and beyond.
